We are broadening the base of involvement with the organization, in particular building up local networks and linking Facilitators and meeting participants into our wider community of recovery.

We already have a few key volunteers in place and are now recruiting additional Volunteer Regional Coordinators. These roles are aimed at people who have been facilitating for a long time and feel they would like a wider role in helping build the local SMART Recovery community. The minimum time commitment is two hours per week for at least a year – if there are two appropriate people from the same region they can double up, so don’t be put off even if you think the seat is occupied!

The plan is to hold regular meetings with all these volunteers plus our Central Office team. In time, we hope to build on this and have Facilitator-led committees and working groups like the organization does in the USA. If you are interested in applying, please contact your National Coordinator.
